Wireless Charging

We are proud of the fact that our intelligent products and development platforms are consistently setting technological standards. The goal of our "all wireless" concept is the fully wireless integration of mobile terminals in vehicles. An important part of this concept is so-called "Wireless Charging". This enables the position-independent charging of mobile devices in vehicles without having to make any compromises with the connection quality. To push this technology ahead, peiker is involved in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) as well as in the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP).

Some current mobile phones already support the so-called "Qi" standard of the Wireless Power Consortium.

The Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP) is also working on implementing a Wireless Charging solution. The aim of both technologies is to ensure interference-free coexistence with other wireless radio technologies such as Bluetooth®, GSM/UMTS/LTE and Near Field Communication (NFC).

Furthermore, the Wireless Charging solutions should meet the following criteria:

  • Position-independent connection on the external aerial of the vehicle for optimal reception.
  • Maximum flexibility of the device positioning to the charging station
  • Avoidance of disturbances and negative influences since no mechanical adjustment of the terminal devices, such as magnets for example, is necessary.
